SBA History
History of Springfield Business Association (SBA)
Springfield Business Association was started in 2005 by people throughout the community of Springfield who had retail and service businesses.
The original board members were Keith Hentzen, owner of Springfield Drug and Soda Fountain; Carl Weiss, owner of Wiess Studios; Jim Shaw,
owner of Soaring Wing Winery; Randy Fleming, owner of Fleming Auctioneers; and Diane Sullivan, owner of The Organization Station.
The purpose of the SBA was to:
1) promote, preserve, and enhance Springfield area commerce
2) to develop active business-to-business networking among associate members
3) provide business-specific educational opportunities to members
4) provide benevolent community programs
The association members were very supportive and hard-working and proved to be very successful in achieving the Springfield Business
Association's purpose. While the Springfield Business Association stalled out in 2008 due to a lack of growth in the Springfield area, it was
revitalized in 2019 with a group of new business owners who wanted to collaborate and see Springfield flourish once again!
They quickly got to work on developing a strategic plan for the association and they have been going strong ever since.
